David Jones, 27, is charged with firearm offenses, terroristic threats, assault, and related counts, city police said in a release.

It happened on Wednesday, July 19, according to the department. Officers were called to the 600 block of North 8th Street around 6 p.m. about a gunman making threats, police said.

First responders found Jones "in the area" but he allegedly fled, leading officers on a short chase, authorities said. He was arrested after a "brief struggle" and was found to have a loaded gun, police claimed.

Court records show Jones was arraigned on multiple felony charges early Thursday, July 20, where his bail was set at $100,000. He's due back in court for a preliminary hearing on July 28.

No officers or neighbors were hurt during the incident, authorities noted.
